Does your child with Autism have acidic stools?

Yes, its the POOP talk. Why? Because unfortunately so many children fighting a diagnosis of autism have high acidity in their bodies and struggle daily with painful, burning stools. Recently I received a personal message from one of my members which inspired me to offer some practical solutions to stinging poop time.

“Remember my question about how to get rid of burning poo in {K}? It has taken me three years to correct this problem and about a month ago I can say it has been conquered. {A certain essential oil} in belly button and removal of acidic foods from his diet (duh on my part). It was not a yeast or bacteria issue, it was an acid problem. Everyone just assumes yeast or bacteria because he has Autism. No more burning poo!”

If you have followed our journey of recovery and this blog, you know that I firmly and passionately believe autism can be recovered! So what do you need to equip yourself on this journey? First, the discovery of what the root cause is for many of the symptoms your chid is experiencing. For a large percentage of them it lies in the digestive tract. This is the key to how our body feels on a daily basis and in turn, our brain.

Imagine, would your brain function well if your tummy hurt all day? Think how your child must feel.

It is very easy to leap to a conclusion that a child suffering from acidic and painful stools has a yeast over-growth or parasites. This may be true in some cases, but it also can point to levels of acidity and inflammation.

First lines of defense

Essential oils. Why? Well they are safe, potent and when using the right brand can create a significant and permanent shift in health. We definitely are passionate about oils in this family and for daily wellness it is absolutely a part of our regimen. I often cannot even imagine my life before we used essential oils.

For the digestive tract look into these:

  • Tarragon EO – fights parasites naturally, helps to prevent fermentation
  • Ginger EO – also helps to prevent fermentations and supports nausea
  • Fennel EO – nausea, gas, healthy digestion
  • Peppermint EO – promotes peristalsis, fights parasites and nausea
  • Lemongrass EO – kidney and bladder support, edema, fights parasites
  • Anise EO – helps support healthy bile flow, support spastic colitis naturally, intestinal pain
  • Juniper EO – natural support of UTI’s, kidneys and bladder support and digestion
  • Patchouli EO – vomiting, digestion and diarrhea

Tarragon

Let’s focus on tarragon, a favorite of ours, here is an example of plant based options at our fingertips to support comfort and wellness in children {and adults}

Digestive

This particular oil accelerates digestion simply by revitalizing the secretion of digestive juices (gastric juices like acids and bile) into the stomach, which will help breakdown food in to numerous nutrients as well as encourages peristaltic motion within the intestines. This helps the motion of food from the whole digestive tract.

Aperitif

This particular essential oil energizes the secretion of digestive juices in the stomach, that raises appetite. This starts from the the mouth, where the manufacture of saliva is stimulated. Down below, gastric juices as well as bile are secreted in the stomach, that accelerates digestion of the food which is currently present, if any, within the stomach. It will help to empty the stomach, which in turn boosts appetite.

Anti-rheumatic

There’s two main causes behind rheumatism and arthritis. The very first is improper circulation of blood as well as lymph, mainly in the limbs, and the second is the accumulation of poisons, like uric acid, in Tarragonbody. As a result, it is obvious what the cure could be. It ought to primarily be a circulatory, which is, it ought to improve or even help circulation. Secondly, it ought to be a detoxifier, which means that it ought to assist eliminate harmful toxins through the body.

Tarragon Essential Oil aids in the first solution. It’s got good circulatory qualities and boosts circulation, that can bring warmth towards the affected areas of the body and it doesn’t let uric acid gather in almost any one place. It may also help detoxification by stimulating urination as well as excretion, that both assist to eliminate harmful toxins.

All of the above can come in blends to help support the colon and stools, protecting the lining of the gut and intestines naturally without the use of harsh pharmaceuticals.

From Natural News:

Curcumin as an antioxidant:

Turmeric is the fourth most antioxidant-rich herb with an Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) of 159,277. The curcuminoids boost levels of the body’s most potent antioxidants including glutathione, superoxide dismutase and catalase. These molecules are critical for the body to limit oxidative stress-related damage to the vital organ systems.

Curcumin has been shown to reduce inflammation-mediating prostaglandins, cytokines and other molecules such as interleukin 6, nuclear factor-kappa beta (NF-kb) and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha). With a high enough dosage, this has the ability to pull the body out of a strong inflammatory cascade and reset anti-inflammatory behavior at the cellular level.

Curcumin was an important addition to our recovery regimen early on to immediately address the high levels of inflammation occurring in big brother.

Black Pepper Essential Oil

Back to another amazing essential oil here, why? Black pepper is known to increase absorption by 2000% when used with other essential oils and supplements like curcumin.

Chemical composition

Black Pepper oil is composed of various chemical constituents and includes the following: a-thujone, a-pinene, camphene, sabinene, b-pinene, a-phellandrene, myrcene, limonene, caryophyllene, b-farnesene, b-bisabolene, linalool and terpinen-4-ol.

Therapeutic properties

There are several therapeutic properties of black pepper oil which include being analgesic, antiseptic, antispasmodic and antitoxic. It is an aphrodisiac, diaphoretic, digestive, diuretic, febrifuge, laxative, rubefacient and tonic (especially of the spleen).

Uses

Black Pepper oil has several uses. It can be used to help in the treatment of pain relief, rheumatism, chills, flu, colds, increase circulation, exhaustion, muscular aches, physical and emotional coldness, nerve tonic and fevers. It increases the flow of saliva, stimulates appetite, encourages peristalsis, tones the colon muscles and is a general digestive tonic.

Probiotics

I always mention this, and yet it amazes me still the parents I meet on a daily basis who do not have a probiotic in their children’s daily wellness regimen. We live in a toxic world, probiotics are a must for anyone, anywhere and anytime!

We only use and trust Seroyal brand and love the HMF powder.

Our outlook on recovery has always been to think simply thru challenges. What are the root causes? How can we support the system with the most natural and pure substances? In nearly every case we have turned to an essential oil, for its safety and potency or to homeopathic standards of care.

Sometimes the most simple answer lies in the basic of natural remedies.
